Creating a new ringtone is easy, you simply open up GarageBand and then follow theses simple steps:

Select ‘Create New Music Project’, and in the new dialogue box that opens up type the name you wish the ringtone to be saved under in your iTunes/iPhone.

Open up your iTunes music library and then drag the music file you want to turn into a ringtone, and drop it into the main GarageBand window. This will only work on unprotected AAC/MP3 music files (those downloaded from your own CD collection), so if you have purchased a track in the iTunes store you will not be able to drag and drop it into Garageband, as these are usually classed as protected files.

If the song is very long you may need to shorten it before you can use it in Garageband, as if it takes longer to download than 40 seconds it will automatically time out. You will get a dialogue box telling you if the song needs to be shortened, and you can just click on the ‘Adjust’ button to do this (in blue). A little yellow bar when then appear at the top of the screen and you can shorten the track by as much as you like by clicking on the end of the bar and dragging it to the left. You can preview the new track length by clicking on the play button before moving on, to make sure you are happy with the changes.

Once you have made any adjustments you need to with the track length you can then import the newly created ringtone to iTunes by going to the top of the screen and selecting the ‘Share’ tab, and then ‘Send Ringtone to iTunes’. This will take a few moments to transport, and then go in and check the tag as it can sometimes transported incorrectly so you may need to rename it.

Plug in your iPhone and sync so that it picks up the new imported ringtone and then you will be able to see it under the ‘Settings>Sounds’ menu in your iPhone, so that you can select it as your new ringtone. These ring tones will play on a loop until you have answered your phone as a default setting.

Mobile internet telephony (VoIP) operator Truphone said yesterday that it has integrated AOL Instant Messenger into its iPhone application. Apart from able to place VoIP calls, consumers now can log in to AOL and instant message other AIM users through the latest Truphone app. Already the software includes support for Google Talk, Skype, Yahoo Messenger and Windows Live Messenger.

Here Netbiscuits announced at the same time that it has partnered with AdMob, the world’s largest mobile-advertising service, to provide its consumers with the advertising firm’s ad placement tools. Netbiscuits says its software will offer users the option to integrate ads in mobile video and some other media. However, the terms and conditions of the deal were not revealed. Netbiscuits is a company that provides a Web software platform for mobile development and advertising. On the other hand, Google said last Friday that now mobile-phone users can modify Google Spreadsheets. The company says users can view, edit, sort, as well as filter spreadsheets on a range of mobile devices, including the iPhone and T-Mobile G1. Many think this step give the users a touch of modern technology.

iPhone has been the center of attraction in the mobile phone market since the day Apple launched it in the market. However, the customers could not use the iPhone because Apple contracted with very few mobile operators and to use the iPhone the customer has to subscribe with those particular mobile operators. Then the hacker community came to the rescue and unlocked iPhone before Apple had chance to upgrade their software. But unlocking iPhone become more difficult as the Apple upgrades their software. However, the unlock process was advanced to a single click mechanism that worked with all iPhone firmware’s.

When the iPhone 3G was launched the un-lockers faced more critical situation. Thing about it, Apple declaring that they will launch iPhone 3G to 70 countries within few months, where the unlock iPhone or unlock iPhone 3G devices are not necessary. Problem even rise on the US, when the users want to switch their mobile operator that provides iPhone. If the user desire to switch the mobile operator and use another operators SIM using an unlocked iPhone 3G device then the user will not be able to use the 3G network service. And that is why more people are now loosing their interest with the unlocked iPhone or iPhone 3G device.

The un-lockers cost Apple millions in subscription-derived income that the company shares with authorized carriers. Apple always tried to protect their iPhone devices from being hacked. But it also created the demand for the iPhone to the publics.

However, Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs described the situation as cat-and-mouse game. And he also added:

We try to stay ahead. People will try to break in, and it’s our job to stop them breaking in.
