Nokia Selected for 3G Services

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), India tied up with world leading Finnish mobile phone manufacturer Nokia for bundling several 3G handsets with its services. BSNL is the country’s third leading mobile service operator with 24 per cent market share and in terms of subscribers.

One of the senior officials of the company said that the PSU tied up with mobile giant Nokia to provide handsets for its 3G subscribers. “Nokia India has partnered BSNL in bringing to Indian consumers 3G services on a host of Nokia devices,” said Nokia India Head for Operator Channels, V Ramnath.

For BSNL 3G services several Nokia’s handsets are considered like

Nokia 3120Classic
Nokia 5800Xpress Music
Nokia N79
Nokia 5320
Nokia E71
Nokia N81

Owners of those gadgets will get talk-time and data packages through different price plans. Ramnath said “We are also in discussions with BSNL to offer its subscribers a combination of free as well as paid for applications in order to further enhance consumer experience.”

BSNL introduced 3G mobile services in last February. The services facilitate various video streaming applications on cell phones for example

The company tied up additionally with consulting wing of Swedish Telecom machinery wholesaler Ericsson as an exclusive part of its current ‘Go To Market’ strategy. PSU senior officials said “It will perform network improvement and optimization services for the core, radio and transmission networks installed by its parent Ericsson.”

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Software Update Available

Nokia’s hot selling 5800 Xpress Music handset just got a little bit improved. The update is intended to progress the performance and add new functionalities to the device. A new firmware version for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, v11.0.008, has been available. All variants of the handset should do well in the update. Nokia’s senior vice president for devices, Soren Petersen said in a statement that,

“The update includes great improvements in the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.”

The software update assures faster Internet data downloads better e-mail and search service, and additional camera support for a burst mode that permits users to take multiple pictures with single button pushes.

Other features which are improved into the 5800 XpressMusic for update:

Symbian S60 5th Edition UI should become faster after the update is installed.
Second camera now supports photo capture in addition to video calls.
Improvement in-device search experience.
Built-in Mobile Dictionary supports 38 languages and includes voice playback in new update.
New application update allows you to verify for new application updates.

And the new update can be downloaded through the Nokia Software Update application.

All Nokia lovers and the people who don’t prefer Nokia but love tinny tunes they can be jumping with joy as cell phone manufacturer giant Nokia is going to release three new music-playing handsets very soon. The new edition of Nokia named Comes With Music (CWM) handsets hook up impeccably to the Nokia Music store. The phones come with between 12 and 18 months of unfettered access to millions of tunes. The tunes can be swapped between the handset’s onboard memory and a host computer as well. The model no of incoming handsets is 5730, 5330 and 5030.

5730 Xpress Music

The handset is the company’s first device CWM handset with a QWERTY keyboard and dedicated gaming keys. Additionally, Nokia’s latest Homescreen software provides direct access to music, games and several other applications such as Facebook, photos maps, messaging and Ovi Contacts. The Ovi Contacts lets CWM users see which of their ‘friends’ are online and chat. They can also view what music they are listening to. The authority is promising 26 hours of playback time on a single charge. The expected price of 5732 is about €280 and it will available in June.

5030 Xpress Radio and 5330

The 5030 Xpress Radio is a great collection of Nokia family. The handset is aimed at emerging markets. It has a traditional soap bar design and comes with an internal FM radio antenna. It facilitates with one-touch radio and channel selection keys. The rough price of the cell is less than €40. It is going to hit the shelves in the second quarter of 2009. On the other hand, the 5330 is a top slider with appealing much the same capabilities as the 5730 Xpress Music. However, it sells price could be around €160. It is expected to available in market at the same time like 5730.

Usually, every Nokia’s new edition makes a noise all over the world. People from different part want to stay with Nokia’s new one. That’s why, the company plans to expand its CWM service. The service is now only available in Britain and Singapore. Nokia wants to introduce it into Italy, Australia, Sweden and Mexico in the next few months and later several other countries.
