    Nokia’s hot selling 5800 Xpress Music handset just got a little bit improved. The update is intended to progress the performance and add new functionalities to the device. A new firmware version for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, v11.0.008, has been available. All variants of the handset should do well in the update. Nokia’s senior vice president for devices, Soren Petersen said in a statement that,

    “The update includes great improvements in the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.”

    The software update assures faster Internet data downloads better e-mail and search service, and additional camera support for a burst mode that permits users to take multiple pictures with single button pushes.

    Other features which are improved into the 5800 XpressMusic for update:

    • Symbian S60 5th Edition UI should become faster after the update is installed.
    • Second camera now supports photo capture in addition to video calls.
    • Improvement in-device search experience.
    • Built-in Mobile Dictionary supports 38 languages and includes voice playback in new update.
    • New application update allows you to verify for new application updates.

    And the new update can be downloaded through the Nokia Software Update application.

Creating a new ringtone is easy, you simply open up GarageBand and then follow theses simple steps:

    1. Select ‘Create New Music Project’, and in the new dialogue box that opens up type the name you wish the ringtone to be saved under in your iTunes/iPhone.
    2. Open up your iTunes music library and then drag the music file you want to turn into a ringtone, and drop it into the main GarageBand window.  This will only work on unprotected AAC/MP3 music files (those downloaded from your own CD collection), so if you have purchased a track in the iTunes store you will not be able to drag and drop it into Garageband, as these are usually classed as protected files.
    3. If the song is very long you may need to shorten it before you can use it in Garageband, as if it takes longer to download than 40 seconds it will automatically time out.  You will get a dialogue box telling you if the song needs to be shortened, and you can just click on the ‘Adjust’ button to do this (in blue).  A little yellow bar when then appear at the top of the screen and you can shorten the track by as much as you like by clicking on the end of the bar and dragging it to the left.  You can preview the new track length by clicking on the play button before moving on, to make sure you are happy with the changes.
    4. Once you have made any adjustments you need to with the track length you can then import the newly created ringtone to iTunes by going to the top of the screen and selecting the ‘Share’ tab, and then ‘Send Ringtone to iTunes’. This will take a few moments to transport, and then go in and check the tag as it can sometimes transported incorrectly so you may need to rename it.
    5. Plug in your iPhone and sync so that it picks up the new imported ringtone and then you will be able to see it under the ‘Settings>Sounds’ menu in your iPhone, so that you can select it as your new ringtone.  These ring tones will play on a loop until you have answered your phone as a default setting. icon smile iPhones Free Custom Ringtone Guide
