However, the customers could not use the iPhone because Apple contracted with very few mobile operators and to use the iPhone the customer has to subscribe with those particular mobile operators. However, the unlock process was advanced to a single click mechanism that worked with all iPhone firmware’s.

When the iPhone 3G was launched the un-lockers faced more critical situation. Thing about it, Apple declaring that they will launch iPhone 3G to 70 countries within few months, where the unlock iPhone or unlock iPhone 3G devices are not necessary. Problem even rise on the US, when the users want to switch their mobile operator that provides iPhone. If the user desire to switch the mobile operator and use another operators SIM using an unlocked iPhone 3G device then the user will not be able to use the 3G network service. And that is why more people are now loosing their interest with the unlocked iPhone or iPhone 3G device.

The un-lockers cost Apple millions in subscription-derived income that the company shares with authorized carriers. Apple always tried to protect their iPhone devices from being hacked. But it also created the demand for the iPhone to the publics.

However, Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs described the situation as cat-and-mouse game. And he also added:

We try to stay ahead. People will try to break in, and it’s our job to stop them breaking in.
